Used since the 7th century, Kajal is the oldest and the most organic object to be used as a means of beautifying oneself. It can be made within an hour at home with basic ingredients available and can have various health benefits too. Being organic, it doesn’t even harm you and the best part is the process is effortless.

Classic Black Kajal
Ingredients:
2 Diyas
1-2 spoon Ghee
A Steel/ Copper plate
2 glasses (for the stand)
Dish/ Bowl
Method:
Light 2 Diyas with oil and place them together side by side. Place 2 glasses on the either side of them as a support for the copper/ steel plate to be placed over the pair of diyas. Let it fume of the diyas hit the dish for about 30 minutes so that the charcoal is collected in quite an amount. After that, Remove the residue in a bowl and mix it well with the ‘desi ghee’ for 5-6 minutes. Mix well until it forms like a paste. Store it in a small container and your Classic Black Kajal is ready to be used. Add 1-2 tablespoon of Beeswax for a smudge proof effect. Use the eye brushes to apply it like a Kajal or an Eyeliner!

Aloe Vera- Castor Oil Kajal
Ingredients:
Aloe Vera Gel
Castor Oil
2 Diyas
A Steel/ Copper plate
2 glasses (for the stand)
Method:
Light 2 Diyas with castor oil and place them together side by side. Place 2 glasses on the either side of them as a support for the copper/ steel plate to be placed over the pair of diyas. Let it heat for about 30 minutes so that the charcoal is collected in quite an amount. After that, Remove the residue in a bowl, mix one to two teaspoons of aloe vera gel util it forms like a paste for 5-6 minutes. Store it in a small container and your Aloe Vera- Castor Oil Kajal is ready to be used. Add 1-2 tablespoon of Beeswax for a smudge proof effect. Use the eye brushes to apply it like a Kajal or an Eyeliner!

White Kajal
Ingredients:
A Small Bowl
Coconut Oil
White Eyeshadow (You can add other colors of eyeshadow too to get other colors of Kajal)
Powder
A Steel/ Copper plate
2 glasses (for the stand)
Beeswax
Method:
Put 1tablespoon beeswax and 1-2 teaspoons of coconut oil in a steel/copper plate. Place it over boiling water with the help of a sansi (SS Pincer). Mix well until it forms like a paste. Later, add some white eye shadow in it and mix it well. Add 1-2 sprinkles of powder for some density. Mix well for 5-6 minutes until it forms like a paste. Store it in a small container and your DIY White Kajal is ready to be used. You can add some other color of eye shadow instead of the white color to make various colors of Kajal/ Eyeliner. Use the eye brushes to apply it!
Benefits:
Beeswax moisturizes, increases the elasticity of the skin and hydrates them. Coconut oil has antibacterial, antifungal, antimicrobial, anti-parasitic, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties.
Ghee- Almond Kajal
Ingredients:
Some Ghee
4-5 Almond Pieces
2 Camphor Pieces
2 Diya
A Steel/ Copper plate
2 glasses (for the stand)
Add Beeswax for a smudge proof effect
Method:
Light 2 Diya with oil and place them together side by side. Place 2 glasses on the either side of them as a support for the copper/ steel plate to be placed over the pair of diya. Let it heat for about 30 minutes so that the charcoal is collected in quite an amount. On the other hand, place 2 small pieces of camphor and the pieces of almons in another dish and cover it with a dish until the camphor completely evaporates. After that, remove both their residue in a bowl and add some ghee. Mix well until it forms like a thick paste. Store it in a container, and your Ghee- Almond Kajal is ready to be used. Use the eye brushes to apply it like a Kajal or an Eyeliner!

The almond in the Kajal will improve your vision and increase the length of the eyelashes. It protects your eyes again sunlight and irritation. Camphor helps in providing coolness to the eyes and relieves them from stress. It helps in subsiding minor eruptions in the eyes and thus promotes the health of the eyes. Ingredients:
Camphor
Coconut Oil
A Steel/ Copper plate
2 glasses (for the stand)
Add Beeswax for a smudge proof effect
Method:
Light 2 camphor and place them in a plate together side by side. Place 2 glasses on the either side of them as a support for the copper/ steel plate to be placed over them. Let it heat for about 30 minutes so that the charcoal is collected in quite an amount. After that, Remove the residue in a bowl. Add 1-2 teaspoons of coconut oil according to the thickness of the paste and mix it well for 5-6 minutes. Store it in a container, and your Camphor- Coconut Oil Kajal is ready to be used. Use the eye brushes to apply it like a Kajal or an Eyeliner!
